NYAOT Summary of EO 62: Establishing a Moratorium on Data Centers

Governor Kathy Hochul today signed an Executive Order to create the nation’s first moratorium on new hyperscale data centers. State environmental permits are temporarily paused for up to one year in order to build a regulatory framework with the stated goal of protecting ratepayers, the environment, the energy grid and communities across the state.
